Noble and tsarist estates of Moscow

A century and a half ago, the areas we consider today to be suburbs belonged to what we now see as the Moscow Region - and many people aspired to have a country estate there. The former tsarist residences of Kolomenskoye, Izmailovo and Tsaritsyno, the estates of Kuskovo and Ostankino, the literary cradle of the XIX century Ostafievo and many others have now become Muscovites' favorite places for walks.
